We depart Melbourne city, travelling through a cross section of suburbs to the eucalypt forests of Warrandyte. Enjoy morning tea and a short stroll with your guide along the Yarra River with a chance to see the diverse birdlife and koalas that inhabit the forest. A short drive to the low water levels of Sugarloaf Reservoir shows the affect of the local ten year drought.

Soon we enter the Yarra Valley. Over 60 wineries are established in the valley, varying in size from small family vineyards to large international establishments. We will take time to show you the best the region has to offer.

Your time here starts with wine tastings at the world famous De Bortolis. With over 100 hectares of vineyards set amongst the backdrop of rolling hills and lush valleys, the quality of the wines is only surpassed by the beauty of its surroundings. We will also enjoy the first of our tastings here. From De Bortolis we continue on our way making a stop at the historic Yering Station, the oldest winery in the valley. We then arrive at Rochfords winery where we enjoy a sumptuous lunch overlooking the vines, followed by more exquisite tastings.

After lunch we drive out of the valley to the cool and inviting forests of the Dandenong Ranges. The tall wet eucalypt forests feature the large mountain ash trees and verdant canopy of tree ferns. A short walk with your guide takes you along a ferngully stream deep into the forest. Here we have the chance to see the lyrebird, cockatoos, galahs and rosellas, before getting in the vehicle for the very last time, returning to the city through the suburbs of South Eastern Melbourne.
