There’s a new species in the world’s oldest rainforest… the JUNGLE SURFER.

Set in the pristine Daintree rainforest at Cape Tribulation, Jungle Surfing Canopy Tours takes you on a unique rainforest tour where your feet don’t touch the ground.  Jungle Surfers fly through the trees on flying fox ziplines, stopping at five tree platforms to take in spectacular bird’s eye views over the treetops, down to cascading streams and out to the Great Barrier Reef. 

The longest span is over 75 metres and the platforms vary in height from 2.5 to 19.5 metres above the ground.  At the highest point you fly over 22 metres above the valley, and the flight choice is yours - slow, fast or even upsidedown.

While your taste for adventure is fulfilled, your safety is covered with all construction and equipment meeting the highest standards and all platforms manned by highly trained abseiling masters & scientist guides, who educate and entertain you throughout the tour. 

With harnesses to suit kids aged 3 up to adults weighing 120kg, you can bring the kids and bring the grandparents – Jungle Surfing is the adventure activity for all ages.

JUNGLE SURFING - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q. Who can go Jungle Surfing?   A. Jungle Surfing is open to all ages from 3-103, with child & adult harnesses to suit almost all sizes.  There is however a weight restriction of 120kg.  In addition, Jungle Surfing is not recommended for pregnant women.

Q. Do I have to be fit?  A.  No.  Our oldest Jungle Surfer to date was 89! There is a 400m walk to the first Platform along a narrow forest trail and another short walk from the final Platform to the bus.  During the tour, the guides do all the work and the customer can just sit back and enjoy the ride.  If you have restricted mobility please give us a call to discuss your requirements prior to the tour and we will be happy to help.

Q. Do I have to go fast?  A. No.  The guides control the course and can limit your speed if you prefer.
 
Q. Do I have to be over 18 years old?  A.  No.  Children under 12 years of age should be accompanied by an adult.  Children between 12 and 18 years may come unaccompanied.  However, all persons under 18 must have our Medical Declaration & Waiver Release signed by a parent or guardian prior to the tour.

Q. What should I bring?  A. Don’t forget your camera. – there are stunning views from the platforms and the guides will take pictures for you during the ride.  Long shorts or trousers are most comfortable, skirts are not suitable.  Enclosed footwear is advisable as thongs or slip-ons may fall from your feet during the ride and therefore have to be taped on!

As the sun sets over the trees, the Jungle begins to come alive. Most rainforest animals are nocturnal so we regularly see snakes, lizards, possums, spiders, bandicoots, birds, insects and more.   Our “Mad” Scientist Guides will show you the dark side of this ancient forest as they lead you along natural trails into a world little changed in 120 million years. The walking tracks are graded easy to moderate for people with a medium level of fitness or above, and the tour lasts 2 hours.
