Full Itinerary
Travel to Katherine by The Ghan then experience the Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge cruise, Katherine Hot Springs, Springvale Homestead (oldest standing homestead in the Territory), Kakadu National Park – Nourlangie Rock, Ubirr, Bowali Visitor Centre, Border Store, East Alligator River, Edith Falls and Yellow Water sunset cruise (Cooinda - Kakadu National Park). Plus this package also includes 3 lunches.
Day 1 - The Ghan
Travel on the Ghan from Darwin to Katherine in Red Service Day/Nighter seat and overnight at your choice of accommodation, either Best Western Pine Tree Motel (3 ½ star) or Springvale Homestead Budget Motel.
Day 2 - Katherine
Depart your accommodation at approximately 8.00am for a 2 hour Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge cruise. After your cruise, visit the Katherine Museum, then enjoy lunch at Pine Tree Motel. After lunch take pleasure in a swim at the Katherine Hot Springs, then onto Springvale Homestead for a historical tour of the oldest standing homestead in the Territory and afternoon tea. Visit other local attractions during the rest of the afternoon before arriving back at your accommodation at about 5.00pm.
Day 3 - Kakadu
Depart Katherine at 7.30am for an exciting 2 days in Kakadu National Park. Firstly, visit Edith Falls, a deep permanent pool fringed by pandanus palms and high cliffs. Then travel to Pine Creek and Mary River before entering Kakadu National Park via the southern entrance. Arrive at Cooinda, home of Yellow Water and take pleasure in the variety of birds, wildlife and crocodiles on a subset cruise. Overnight at your choice of accommodation, either Gagudju Lodge Cooinda or the Safari Camp.
Day 4 - Darwin
Your final day will see you depart Cooinda at 7.00am for Nourlangie Rock, just magic at the time of this time of the morning. Today will create long lasting memories of Kakadu, including Bowali Visitor Centre, Ubirr, Border Store, East Alligator River, and so much more.
Arrive back in Darwin at approx 5.30pm.
Day 1 - The Ghan
Travel on the Ghan from Darwin to Katherine in Red Service Day/Nighter seat and overnight at your choice of accommodation, either Best Western Pine Tree Motel (3 ½ star) or Springvale Homestead Budget Motel.
Day 2 - Katherine
Depart your accommodation at approximately 8.00am for a 2 hour Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge cruise. After your cruise, visit the Katherine Museum, then enjoy lunch at Pine Tree Motel.
