After we collect you from your Hobart accommodation, we depart Hobart at 7:30am and travel north to Tasmania’s sunny East Coast. Lined with amazing beaches, this coastline offers great views and a number of stops at quaint fishing towns and sheltered coves. Upon arriving in the seaside town of Swansea, we have a short wander down to the beach, before continuing on to the jewel of the East Coast – Freycinet National Park.

Driving onto the peninsula, the amazing colours of Freycinet come into view. The Hazards peaks dominate the view, towering over azure blue water and pink granite rock faces. Before entering the National Park, we stop at Coles Bay for some lunch supplies, before arriving at the walking tracks carpark.

Here we have a number of options, for the fit and the less active. The moderate walk to Wineglass Bay Lookout is a must – from here we can see the picture-postcard view of famous Wineglass Bay, rated as one of the top 10 beaches in the world. From here, we can return to the carpark and explore the rest of the National Park with our friendly, knowledgeable guide. We drive to Honeymoon Bay for lunch, as well as Cape Tourville Lookout for some more amazing ocean views.

The more active may choose the Wineglass Bay beach walk, which includes the descent from the lookout down the Wineglass Bay, as well as the picturesque climb back up. Alternatively, the active person may choose to complete the Hazards Beach circuit (2.5-3 hours return).

Having explored the beaches and coastal lookouts of Freycinet National Park we return to Hobart, stopping on the way for delicious berry ice-cream at Kate’s Berry Farm – a great end to an unforgettable day.
