Pre departure:
Meet the group in a bar the night before the date of departure for a short welcome & safety brief (Just let us know if you are unable to attend).

Day 1: Hong Kong - Guilin
Meet at Hong Kong’s Hung Hom Train Station for the High Speed Rail link to Guangzhou, then connect on to the night train to Guilin.

Day 2: Yangshuo

• Raft down the Li River through China’s stunning karst scenery to Yangshuo.
• Optional activities here include visiting mud-baths in underground caves, rock climbing, bike hire, visiting the rice terraces, sampling snake liquor in the various roof top bars & watching the farmers use birds to catch fish.

Day 3: Yangshuo

Day 5: Chongqing
Night Train to Chongqing.

Day 6: Chongqing
Optional activities in Chongqing include visiting a panda reserve, a karaoke night and eating traditional Sichuan Hot-Pot.

Day 7: Chonqing - Xi'an
Night train to Xi’an.

Day 8: Xi'an

• Visit the Terracotta Warriors, a Wonder of the Ancient World.
• The legendary Xi’an bar crawl.

Day 9: Xi'an

• City tour by bike.
• Help Xian’s homeless people at a soup kitchen.

Day 10: Farmstay

• After breakfast take a minibus deep into the heart of The QingLing mountains.
• Stop for tubing and sunbathing by a river.
• Arrive at a peasant mountain farm.
• Hike in the mountains behind the farm to 6 waterfalls.
• Dinner on the farm, with ingredients all from them farm, followed by an evening drinking Hans, the local beer, under the stars.

Day 11: Xi'an

• Return to Xi’an, Fast train to Longmen station, Bus to Dengfeng
• Visit an orphanage and help the children practice their English

Day 12: Xi'an - Beijing

• Optional Kungfu lesson in the Shaolin Monastry, the home of Kungfu
• Night train to Beijing

Day 13: Beijing
Optional activities in Beijing include visiting Tiananmen Square, seeing Chairman Mao’s embalmed body, visiting the Forbidden City, checking out Beijing’s underground bars which play host to an up and coming music scene and trying the Beijing Roast Duck Pancakes

Day 14: Great Wall
Trek and camp on a private part of the Great Wall

Day 15: Beijing

• Rise to see sunrise over the wall, and then head back to Beijing.
• Those who have purchased a return ticket to Hong Kong to board their train.
• Those who leave the tour in Beijing to have a final night with the group in Beijing.

Day 16:  Arrive in Hong Kong

This price includes the following:

• Transport on night trains with fully flat beds, as well as all connections to/from train stations.
• Accommodation in hostels which meet The Dragon Trip’s high standards. All hostels, have their own unique Chinese charm, but at the same time are safe, clean and hygienic.
• One Chinese and one Western tour guide for the duration of the trip.
• Tickets, transportation and guides for a selection of un-missable activities – eg, rafting down the Li river, A night on a peasant farm, hiking and camping on the Great Wall, a visit to The terracotta Warriors etc.
